San Francisco goes all-out to become electric

The district mayors of the San Francisco area have projected their ideas for a US$1 billion network of electric car recharging stations.
Aiming to greatly expand the number of electric vehicles on the road, the officials have unveiled plans for a public-private partnership to supply charging stations in homes, businesses, parking lots and government buildings by 2012.
Mechanized battery swapping centers will also be available, where robots will be able to remove and replace batteries in hybrid and electric cars.
The mayors hope the Bay Area will be the first region in the US to create an electric car network.
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has also supported the deal.

Electric cars is pretty good idea for clean-air transportation, however we like to study and considering more problems about the electricity waste while the car is in queueing; the random drivers to recharge the car battery may knock down the California’s (PG&E) electricity power caused the shortage. (D) JOHN GARAMENDI and (R) CARLETON S. FIORINA will study and discuss the consideration agenda about 1) the clean-air light-water nuclear reactor(s) to build in Northern California’s offshore island(s) such as Angel Island. 2) Pacific Offshore Golden Gate’s seawater’s hydraulic power to generate electricity. 3) the US military engineering the diversion works to connect nodes of the longest Mississippi River’s branches (from state-to-state) to Colorado River’s nodes to draw water to West Coast’s California; soon or later, California’s drought crisis must be solved by Mississippi River’s (irrigation) diversion; that will also solve the Mississippi River’s seasonal floods at the same time and the same project.
4) Considering the seawater pipelines to the cities' households for toilet flushing.
