The New York Red Bulls signed Ghanaian national team forward Samuel Tetteh on loan from Red Bull Salzburg of the FC Austrian Bundesliga, the team announced Tuesday.
Tetteh, 24, will occupy an international slot on the Red Bulls' roster through the end of the 2020 season.
"Samuel is an exciting attacking player that our scouts have been following," Red Bulls head of sport Kevin Thelwell said in a statement. "He is strong physically and technically, and plays with a lot of confidence. He's got an intelligence in each phase of the game and we believe he'll fit in well with our group."
Tetteh has recorded more than 100 appearances across all competitions in Austria. He collected 19 goals and 15 assists in 86 appearances since joining LASK, a First Division Austrian Club, in the winter of 2018.
"Samuel is a very interesting attacking player," Red Bulls coach Chris Armas said. "He's intelligent, he can create on his own and can stretch backlines with his speed. We know that Samuel has big potential and we are excited to get to work with him."
