Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz is expected to miss four to six weeks with an ankle injury, the NFL Network reported on Thursday morning.
Ertz, 29, sustained the injury during Philadelphia's 30-28 setback to Baltimore on Sunday.
A three-time Pro Bowl selection, Ertz has recorded 24 receptions for 178 yards and a touchdown in six games this season. His average of 7.4 yards per catch serves as a career low.
Ertz has 549 receptions for 5,921 yards with 36 touchdowns in 112 career games since being selected by the Eagles in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft.
Richard Rodgers presumably will serve as the lead tight end for the Eagles (1-4-1) in their home game against the New York Giants (1-5) on Thursday.
Dallas Goedert likely would take over that role when he returns from injured reserve, however.
