New Orleans Saints versatile weapon Taysom Hill may have sustained a torn tendon in his middle finger on his throwing hand that could require surgery, NFL Network reported Friday.

Hill's injury is feared to be similar to the one that Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson sustained against the Los Angeles Rams on Oct. 7. Wilson missed the Seahawks' next three games before returning following the team's bye.

Hill sustained the injury early in the Saints' 27-17 setback to the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday. He played through the injury while wearing a splint on his finger, however he threw four interceptions -- including one that was returned for a touchdown.

"It's not broken," Hill said. "I don't know exactly what it is."

Hill completed 19 of 41 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns in New Orleans' fifth straight setback.

Hill, 31, has completed just 26 of 49 passes for 320 yards with two touchdowns and five interceptions this season. He also has rushed for 205 yards and three scores and had four catches for 52 yards.

Trevor Siemian and rookie Ian Book are options for the Saints (5-7) should Hill be sidelined.

New Orleans next faces the host New York Jets on Dec. 12.
