Washington Nationals left fielder Daylen Lile exited Sunday's game against the host New York Mets with a left knee bruise after colliding with the fence in the third inning.

With Luis Torrens on second for the Mets, Cedric Mullins hit a fly ball near the foul line and Lile attempted to make a running catch. He crossed the foul line and his knee crashed into the padded fence in foul territory as Torrens scored.

Lile screamed in pain and was down on the ground for a few minutes before being attended to. After a few minutes, he exited the field through Washington's dugout and was replaced by Robert Hassell III.

The Nationals held a 3-1 lead after Lile was injured. He singled off Sean Manaea on the first pitch of the second inning and scored on a throwing error by Francisco Lindor on a double by Jorge Alfaro.

Lile, who hit the tiebreaking inside-the-park homer in the 11th inning to give Washington a 5-3 win Saturday, is batting .290 with seven homers and 35 RBIs this season.
